Jean-Louis BAYARD layed the first stone of the BAYARD company (J.BAYARD FONDERIE ET TOURNAGE) at 37 rue de la VILLARDIÈRE in LYON.
It produces (via subcontracting) brass fittings, lids and taps for hot water bottles as well as dishcloth drying bars for black stoves (not yet named "cookers")
On March 20th 1901 BAYARD files a patent for an elaborate tap : its first patent in the field of water.
