World Water Day 2023

World Water Day, held every year on March 22 since 1993, is a day to raise awareness of sustainable water resources management.

On 22 March we celebrate World Water day, a special day for Bayard, a leading industrial in water domain.

This year is all the more important as it aims to accelerate change to solve the water and sanitation crisis.
In this period of climate change and modification of the water cycle, our water management presents an important challenge.
Indeed, after a historically dry summer of 2022, France is experiencing an unprecedented winter drought.
Since January 21, there has been no real rainfall. Water tables, lakes and other water points are now at particularly low levels.

Water is therefore likely to become a scarce resource, and five departments are already affected by water restrictions.

Because water is rare and essential, at Bayard we develop effective solutions to improve network performance and save water ressources.

Some figures in the world :

  • 785 million people in the world don’t have access to drinking water
  • 80% of the world’s wastewater is untreated
  • At least 1.8 billion people worldwise use a contamined drinking water source
  • 937 million m3 of water is lost to leakage each year in France

Every drop counts !
