Dams Energy and Hydropower

Hydropower dams and power plants play a major role in sustainable water management and renewable energy production. They make it possible to store water, regulate flow rates to prevent flooding, and generate green electricity that is essential to the energy transition. Worldwide, hydropower accounts for nearly 50% of all renewable electricity production, making it one of the most reliable and proven technologies available.

In France, more than 400 hydropower dams are currently in operation. These structures must ensure public safety, environmental protection, and the continuity of energy supply. Bottom outlet valves subject to pressures that can exceed 100 meters of water column must deliver absolute reliability and allow for fast and secure discharge whenever needed, while preserving the integrity of the installation.

Within hydropower plants, valves and control devices regulate turbine operation and ensure the stability of the production network. They must remain fully operational at all times, even after long periods of inactivity, and guarantee rapid maneuverability, perfect sealing, and maximum resistance to corrosion.

With strong expertise and proven technical solutions, BAYARD® provides operators with robust and durable equipment designed for the most demanding conditions. We support our partners in their hydropower production projects, combining performance, safety, and long-term sustainability.
