BAYARD powered by 100% renewable electricity

The weather makes its presence felt, and we can say it brings a certain level of humidity...
Yet these rainfalls are the source of one of the lowest-carbon energy opportunities available to us: hydroelectricity!

In line with our strategy to reduce our environmental impact, we have chosen to opt for 100% decarbonised electricity. Nearly 2/3 of this energy comes from a regional hydroelectric power plant: the Couzon Dam (42).

An industrial and strategic water & energy coherence, a natural choice for BAYARD:

• A renewable energy source derived from water resources
• A regional supply consistent with our industrial footprint
• Very low-carbon electricity (hydroelectricity is among the lowest-emitting energy sources in lifecycle analysis – ADEME / RTE data)
• A local loop between hydraulic infrastructure and industrial activity

And for the remaining third? Our energy provider guarantees 100% electricity from other renewable sources: solar, wind and hydraulic (certificates available).

Result: 100% of our electricity is guaranteed of renewable origin.
